Okee dokee..Just felt like blogging for a bit because I have some time before work. Maybe I will talk about the books we've read. I really didn't enjoy Neuromancer only because I felt it was wayyyy too far over my head, but I did really really really enjoy Diamond Age. It really felt to me like it was a modern day cyberpunk fairy tale. The fact that it was set in the future made it SO very interesting to read, and the Primer aspect of the novel was so fascinating. I loved everything about the book. When I first starting reading it I thought it was going to be difficult for me remember things from the previous chapter because Stephenson switched stories back and forth but then when the chapters finally came together it was like wow, he did that in a really cool way. Also, I'm not sure if anyone else noticed, but part one of the book ended at half the novel, and part two ended obviously at the second half. I thought that was pretty cool! I wonder if Stephenson planned it that way? I would really enjoy reading another book similar to Diamond Age. Dr. Reid, if you're reading this, any suggestions? Although I felt as if the book took me forever to get through because there was SO much detail on each page, I really really really enjoyed reading it. I suppose it was better that I didn't fly through it, or else I wouldn't have remembered it half as well as I have. Yay for Diamond Age and Yay for Neil Stephenson. Maybe when I have some spare time I will read his other books!
