Little Brother on the In-Laws Comp BLOG
Our laptop isn't working for the past few days so I asked the in-laws if I could use there computer. "No Problemo". Ok, well I am planning on finishing Little Brother tonight. Although I can tell it is geared to people a little younger than ourselves I absolutely love it. This is what I picture the very near future to be like. I mean VERY near-10-20 years. I love how the author knows the youths online slang and even some regular slang. Although I don't do it, so many people I know use the different symbols for letters, just like Marcus does. I also like how it is from a first person POV. Everything we know, Marcus knows. And he does a great job of explaining everything in detail. It has made me have better knowledge of how our society and tracking and the internet works. It was interesting how he had a background of many people, like his teachers and his parents. This is stuff that I would find out online. Every time I hear about someone in the paper, I run to Myspace and Google to check their history out. It's so funny. This shoudl definitely be recommended reading for all high schoolers. As a matter of fact, it was swiped from my local library because it was on the summer reading list so my fiance had to drive a few towns over to get it (Barnes and Nobel was all out too). I'm going to check out the discussions right now and will be back.

You know it was available for free download right? I just printed it out on the copier at school. It came out stapled, 2-sided and everything. So sweet. A book for free.
