the Digital Age

emergence and education

i am using a personal day this week solely to focus in my final paper. By then, i am assuming my poor kiddo will be over his wretched stomach bug and i will have miraculously walked away from all the water bottle, food, kiss, germy hand sharing unscathed by his nasty virus. He will be at daycare. My husband will be at work. But, i don't know what i'm wiritng my paper on....i keep reading all these articles, that lead me to more articles and journals, and i'm finding a lot of fascinating stuff--just somehow i either can't correlate it a text b/c my knowledge of the genre is so limited, or i can't narrow down enough, or i'm pretty sure others are already using it and it's starting to make me panic!

I'm panicking because I was deathly ill all weekend. I probably ended up with the same virus as your son. I was so excited to go away with my family and then I was struck Saturday morning. I was in bed at camp all weekend because I refused to come home. I didn't want to ruin my husband's time with my family, so I quaranteened (sp?) myself away from everyone in my own personal hell. I JUST started feeling good this morning and finally kept down some applesauce and ginger ale. It's been a blast. I did read all of Little Brother while I was in deathmode, but I have done nothing with my final paper yet. I'm going to school tomorrow to print off a couple articles that I found because I have this issue with reading long texts online (it kills my eyes). Good luck!

I can sympathize. The best thing I can suggest is that you just start writing. As you write hopefully you'll come to realize what you want to write about. And don't worry about what others might be doing. You can't control that.
