My husband dumped a few of his movies onto my thumb drive that he thought i should watch--to give me a further glimpse into the world of cyberpunk and also to get a visual. Mainly, i think he's enjoying my sudden interest and ability to have a conversation with him with textual (and now visual) reference. i thought i might use one of the films for my 3rd review, but i'm not sure--i may go with Distraction--writing a film review seems a bit more difficult than a book for me. i just finished watching Ghost In the Shell--which has floated around my house for over 10 years, along with its sequel, and Akira, and a million other japanese animation DVDs that i've never watched more than 10 seconds of in my life (except for 2 that belong to my 3 year old). i stuck my thumb drive in expecting crazy non-stop cartoon action with little plot and lots of blood, but i was completely surprised. it had a pretty intricate plot and considering the complexity, it was a very serene movie--slow paced, beautiful and realistic (i mean, if you believe in cyborgs) :) hmmmm, maybe i could get past the two sentences i've stared at on and off for an hour and write my review on the film!
