Career Services Blog - http://blog.cortland.edu/career
I just started an internship as a Staff Writer for the Career Services office. The position requires me to further develop my career path, which is something I and everyone should be doing, or at least start to do, anyway. It never hurt to prepare ourselves before we graduate!

I’ll be exploring and researching the career fields I’m interested in, attending workshops, taking career assessment test(s), building a resume and cover letter and h… Continue

Last.fm - http://www.last.fm/user/paz416
Last.fm is fairly similar to Pandora in that you can make a profile and provide the site with a list of artists that you like and they will make recommendations of similar-sounding artists and songs. However, I noticed that once you simply click on another artist to just see their songs, the website redirects you and interrupts your listening. But what I did like about last.fm is that you could specifically listen to the artists you want, when you want. P… Continue

Pandora - http://www.pandora.com/people/paz416#
I am hooked on Pandora, which is an online radio website that plays music personalized by specific songs or artists that you like. The “music genome project” plays songs or artists whose musical qualities are similar to whatever you typed in.

LinkedIn - http://www.linkedin.com/pub/a/a54/9bb

LinkedIn is the ideal site for establishing a professional online identity. It is free to join and it allows you to create a profile that provides your education information, your job history and professional accomplishments/awards, etc.
It is basically a generic digital resume. Though I don’t “know” people quite yet, the description of the website says, “our network consists of your connections, your connections’ connections, and the people they… Continue

Plurk - http://www.plurk.com/user/paz416
I don’t have much to say about Plurk besides the fact that I absolutely hate the website and its functions. The only cool part of it was that you can update your status through text message or IM.

The site is basically set up as a timeline with status updates like Twitter’s, except there are hundreds of status updates from members all over the world bombarding your screen each hour, a good chunk of them in foreign languages.

For example, “мне иногда каж… Continue
