Seesmic

Cool colors and grapics always draw me in like bugs around a lamp. Seesmic uses attractive colors to draw in weak-minded souls, like myself, and doesn't dissapoint once the user has access. Seesmic is like an intimate, and possibly more mature, version of Youtube. Users login, and can reply to other users with videos. I'm not sure how much censorship Seesmic uses, but from what I've seen, users say just about anything in their videos.

However, I'm probably not going join, partly because I don't… Continue

Friend feed

Friend feed didn't impress me. For some reason (I guess because it's just like Myspace/Facebook) this website lacked the originality and substance needed to attract prospective users, like myself. My biggest complaint with this website, was that they don't offer any kind of tutorial. The other websites I reseached all gave a rundown of their benefits, while friend feed just says "sign in/join." Not much else to say.....

Youtube

I don't know if youtube counts, but it sure seems like a community to me. Youtube, which I'm assuming everyone in this class has used, works similar to the other websites I researched. You can make friends, create your own page, and send messages to one another. You can post videos, which Youtube monitors VERY closely, and make comments under the video. Although most people are exceptionally harsh on youtube, it;s great way to catch up on current events, t.v shows, sports, etc.

Youtube is by fa… Continue

Digg

I dig Digg.com. Although, at least to me, the website seemed a tad overwhelming. So I clicked on the "about" option. Here's what I got-

"Digg is a place for people to discover and share content from anywhere on the web. From the biggest online destinations to the most obscure blog, Digg surfaces the best stuff as voted on by our users. You won’t find editors at Digg — we’re here to provide a place where people can collectively determine the value of content and we’re changing the way people con… Continue

FLICKR!!!!

Flickr is vastly different from previous websites I had researched. Flickr appears to be a website where passionate photographers can meet, discuss, and edit their work. According to Flickr, they're the best online photo sharing management website. I can't vouch for them because this is the only online photo sharing management website I've accessed. But it does seem like a pretty cool website.

Flickr allows users to upload, edit, organize, share, and create new photos. I took their "magical" to… Continue
