Profile Information

Tell us a little about yourself and your interest in the course you're taking.
I'm a senior at C state and a Health Ed major. I have lived in Cortland all my life, I just turned 21, and I'm SO EXCITED to almost be done with school! Im not really that great at anything that has to do with computers but I thought this course looked interesting so I'm giving it a try.
What are your reading and writing habits? (i.e. what do you like to write and read?)
I am constantly reading whether it be Readers Digest articles, the newspaper, anything love or romance related, and any other kind of book where the cover catches my attention. Where writing is concerned I love to write poetry, usually humerous poems for my friend's and family's birthdays or other holidays. It's fun, I love it, and I wish I could write for Hallmark.
How would you describe your general attitude toward computers and related technology?
Comfortable but not super excited
Do you have a high-speed internet connection (e.g. cable, dsl, etc.)?
yes
Do you have access to a webcam and a microphone for your computer?
no
What "Web 2.0" websites do you use?
Facebook, My Space, YouTube
Have you ever...

Professional Identity Site: LinkedIN

After checking out some of the Web Identity sites, I have chosen the LinkedIN site to establish my professional web identity. Why? Simply because I feel that it is the most put together and professional site that I have researched. This site has so many options and ways to include every little aspect of your career, training, experience etc. to establish a professional web identity. I like that you can type in your own information instead of having to choose options from a drop down menu, which… Continue

Facebook Review

I have been acquainted with Facebook for awhile now, and I really, really enjoy it. Whenever I meet someone new I always ask if they’re on Facebook so I can contact them via that so we can hang out. If Facebook ever had salespersons I would be one of them because I am continuously telling people all the great features of Facebook and why they should join this online community. My favorite part about Facebook is being able to reconnect with old and lost friends that maybe have moved away, or I ju… Continue

Jaiku Review

So, I just checked out Jaiku and it reminds me of Twitter and away messages on AIM and everything else where people tell everyone else what they’re doing. My question is why are there so many sites like this and not just one? They are all so similar, atleast to my untrained mind in regards to technology. I actually think this site is a little boring, and not one I would recommend, and I really have nothing to say about it.

Last.fm Review

So I just checked out last.fm and this is my FAVORITE so far. I love music and am always trying to find new music, and this seems like a great site for that. I like how you can check out what others are listening to, and have listened to. This site could really expand my knowledge of music, and my ears might thank me. Not only can you check out music on this site, you can listen to articles and other interesting tid bits. Really anything that can be recorded is on here. Awesome!

Seesmic Review

I am surprised after checking out the Seesmic site. Why surprised? Because I have never before seen a website where people communicate through videos. It’s kind of weird to me, and something I would never do. I don’t want people being focused on my appearance when I am trying to convey a message, and I would be worried about what I looked like. It’s so much easier to just write something on a website for others to read, rather than to actually have to think about what you’re going to actually sa… Continue
