Profile Information

Tell us a little about yourself and your interest in the course you're taking.
I relocated to Cortland this summer in order to finish my Master's Degree in Literature. I'm currently living in a camper for the summer season and beginning to become acquainted with the area... I'm very excited to be taking a course in which I can enjoy the readings by the pool!
What are your reading and writing habits? (i.e. what do you like to write and read?)
I like to read three books at a time... I try to select them thematically so I can explore different aspects of the same issue. I like to write poetry and short stories, but find that, as a full time student, I have little time for extra-curricular writing or reading!
How would you describe your general attitude toward computers and related technology?

Excuses, excuses

I was a teacher so I know the feeling of growing tired of students' excuses... But here I am finding that I am going to have to offer one for my lack of participation over the past week...
Last week I began a new job full time, while retaining my part time job and still attending class on Monday and Wednesday... then on Wednesday I had to go out of town ( to New Hampshire) for a family event, where I found I had no internet service... in addition I did not have the text, and was not able to get… Continue

Finding a connection

So I have been reading as much as I possibly can... I'm not quite finished with the book. I have about 100 pages to go and then the review to write... but I still have to work tonight, so it'll probably just barely make the due date...
I know that it is taking me longer to read these books than usual because I have to sometimes reread passages and actually spend time visualizing the events... sometimes I have to google words so I can understand the wrk itself... I am still adapting to this genre… Continue

The Kindness of Strangers

I have discovered that I am terribly inept when it comes to online learning! After considering dropping the course and realizing that was not an option, I sought help and i think I might be able to get a handle on this... hopefully...
I finised Neuromancer, and I'm not quite sure what to think about it as if yet... It being the first novel in this genre that I have read, I am hesitant to make any judgments about the value of the work at this time... instead I am reflecting upon the discus… Continue

New Beginnings

Like I mentioned in my profile, I have recently relocated to Cortland, from Corning, in order to finish my MA in Literature. There are many reasons for this decision... so I won't go into details... but part of this new beginning is this online course, a first for me...

I am trying to get started and feel as if I am slightly lost in this world of cyberspace as I explore the Digital Age...

I have yet to begin the reading and therefore have no comment to make to that end... I'm posting a blog ju… Continue
