The End!

This is my last blog about the Web Identity Project.
I will try to meet all the necessary requirements for this project. I hope I have met them all so far. I have learned a lot through this project and am more inclined now to continue to build my web identity further.

1. My web identity currently consists of many social networks. Some I have had in the past and a few much more recently:
1. Myspace: www.myspace.com/normafreakingjean
2. Facebook: http://www.new.facebook.com/home.php#/profile.php?… Continue

Xanga: The blogging community

Xanga was the very first online community that I joined. It was probably back somewhere in 2004. I can't remember exactly. I was at college and we all kept our own "online journals", or that's what we called it before blogging became popular. As I graduated and moved, we all kept in touch through Xanga by seeing what everyone was doing.

For me, I lost interest because I am not a blogger. I like to write my opinions online and how my day was, but its the "keeping up" with my site that I had a pr… Continue

MySPACE!!

Rupert Murdoch's amazing online community! Well, it wasn't his to begin with. Myspace was the beginning of an entire new way of using the Internet. The beginning, for me at least, in connecting to others from all over the world. Since the start of MySpace, there have been significant changes. MySpace has kind of been upstaged by Facebook, but it has one quality that I love that Facebook doesn't offer. MUSIC. Subsribing to bands sites gives you all the recent information about them and bands also… Continue

LinkedIN

What a brilliant site!

I loved it. I think I will join! My research consisted of searching for a job. All I had to do was type in a word or two about the job description (zip code if i like) and hit "Search". I couldn't look any further into the website unless I signed up so the job-system seemed like a good place to start. It had over 2 dozen job descriptions in my field! It was great!

So i signed up for it! The information that I had to give was easy. Nothing out of the ordinary or unnecessa… Continue

The Formidable Facebook!

I have been a member of Facebook for probably over a year. There have been so many additions, renditions, transitions, and so on to that website that it can be quite the stressful little website. At first it was a way to communicate between college students, especially within your very school. Then Facebook opened its doors to the rest of the world which turned it into Myspace... without the music. There are probably close to 100 applications anyone can put on their site and suggest to add to yo… Continue
