IMPORTANT: COLLEGE TECHNICAL SUPPORT POLICY

The College's support policy is that they will not provide support for your home computers. That is, if you are having problems with podcasting or uploading files or Second Life or whatever, they won't provide support. The reason is fairly simple. There are so many different computers and configurations and settings on PCs that it's nearly impossible to troubleshoot someone's individual computer.

As such, if you are having problems doing something. You should come to campus to one of the labs and give it a try. If you have a problem in a lab, then you can get support.

The College Library is the best place to do work for this course. Tera Doty-Blanche (x. 4056) is a computer support specialist in the library. She can help you with podcasting, Garage Band, iMovie,iTunesU, or Second Life. On weekday evenings there are student interns until 9pm who can help you as well.

If you want to access Second Life on campus, the library will have flash drives with the Second Life application that you can check out from the Circulation Desk. You can then use these to run SL on computers in the library. (n.b. The Macs are faster than the PCs.)

If you have questions about Ning or PBwiki (which we will use later in the semester for the Wiki Project), you should direct those questions to me. I will also answer questions about Second Life, Garage Band, iMovie, and iTunesU. However you can get hands-on support in the library, which might be more helpful.
